CONVERSION 

Client: Passenger Operator in Greece, Class B Domestic Sea Liner in Ionian Sea

Scope of Project: Conversion of a ro-ro ship to a two compartment Class B ro-ro passenger ship acc. to 98/18/EC Dir. Major conversion aspects: Two new superstructure decks for new public spaces, New aft ramp doors separate for passengers and vehicles, New Staircase and Electrical Escalators leading pax directly into saloon area, New Collision BHD, New Car Fixed Ramp, Double Bottoms added, New M.E.S.(4) and L/Rs, 1 Fast Rescue & 1 Rescue Boat added.

Our Engagement: Developing of Feasibility Study, Full Conversion Design & Calculations and Construction Supervision.

We were engaged to study and realize a demanding conversion from a ro-ro vessel into a ro-ro passenger ship with Hellenic Flag standards for a major passenger operator in Ionian Sea. The vessel was required to comply with 98/18/EC Dir. and the Stockholm Agreement for Class B vessels. The result was a very successful conversion with the vessel operating the whole year serving the island of Zanthe. Major aspects of conversion were: Two new decks in superstructure, Double Bottoms, Collision BHD added, New separate entrance ramp doors for passengers and vehicles, New Staircase and Electrical Escalators, New, New Car Fixed Ramp, New Life-saving equipment added
